Thanks to the time and dedication of the ENT team at Fife a plan has been drawn up to provide clinical training to nurses and young doctors from Malawi.
In-country visits help to make a difference, however, the long term solution needs to come from forming best practice for care so this can be passed on and form the foundation for building effective ENT services across Malawi.
The plan is to provide one month’s training at Fife for two members of the team in Malawi at a time, the cost of this exercise is around £2,500 per person. To help meet this cost two of the Sheffmed team will endeavour to cycle from Lands End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) and visit many ENT Departments on route to create awareness and raise the funds needed.
Your help and support would be greatly appreciated as these two middle-aged men (Alan & Gary) battle their way north. Please help us to spread the word and raise the funds so that Sarah and Emmanuel can receive much needed training. This is the first step on a long road but I am sure you will agree a worthwhile journey.
Sheffmed will match fund all monies raised.
